🎿 Snow, Techno & Après-Ski – Your Guide to Winter Music Festivals

Sam's Guide to Rise Festival

If you were forwarded this email (Hi! Welcome!!!), you can sign up to the newsletter here.

Helllloooo there,

Have you ever imagined swapping your usual festival fit for snow boots, goggles and a board? That’s exactly what I (Sam) did at Rise Festival in the French Alps, and let me tell you—it was next level.

Why you SHOULD go?

Rise Festival isn’t just any music festival—it’s a winter wonderland set in the breathtaking French Alps. Think world-class DJs, high-altitude après-ski parties, and a crowd of adventure-loving music fans. If you love both winter sports and festivals, it’s the ultimate combo.

How to get there?
✈️ Fly into: Geneva (Switzerland), Lyon, or Grenoble (France)
🚍 Transfers: Buses run from major airports straight to the resort—book early!
🚆 Trains: You can also take a train to Grenoble and then a bus up the mountain.
🚗 Driving: Renting a car? Snow chains might be required—check local regulations.

Trendy Tip: If you're flying in, allow extra time for delays—snowy mountain roads can slow things down.

Trendy Tips for First Timers

✅ Book early – Flights, transfers, and accommodation fill up fast.
✅ Pack smart – Warm layers, waterproof gear, and essentials for festival life.
✅ Ski or don’t ski—it’s still fun – There’s plenty to do beyond the slopes.
✅ Hydrate & pace yourself – Altitude + alcohol = a different kind of hangover!
✅ Après-ski is a must – Some of the best moments happen after the slopes close.

For now, peep last years line up

“But I’ve never skied before!!”

No problem! Plenty of people come just for the music, but if you’re keen to try, there are beginner-friendly slopes and lessons available.

Would We Recommend Rise Festival?

YES! If you love electronic music, après-ski culture, and don’t mind bundling up in the cold, it’s an unforgettable experience. Ideal for adventure seekers, festival lovers, and anyone wanting to try something totally different.

Would we go again? 100%—but we’re also eyeing other winter festivals like Snow Machine and Snowboxx. Anyone down to come with us?? 👀

Hiiiii,
In Mallorca, it really depends on the car rental company. A quick google told me 21 years old, but after diving deeper I found some rental companies will allow you to rent a car if you’re 18 with one year of driving experience, read more here. Additionally, drivers under 25 may be subject to a young driver surcharge. As for the driving license, if you’re from a non-EU country, you’ll need an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your regular driver's license.
Always check with your rental company for their specific requirements before booking.
DRIVE SAFE & enjoy!
